We are not in the business of clothing men. We are in the business of building a line — shoulder, chest, waist, break — and defending it for the next fifteen years.

Canvas, never glue
A floating horsehair canvas is basted through the chest so the jacket moulds to you instead of resisting you. Fused jackets bubble by year three. We have never made one.
Six merchants, no others
Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Fox Brothers, Huddersfield Fine Worsteds and Bourgoin. If a cloth is not in one of those six books, we will tell you so rather than substitute quietly.
Three fittings, or we do not deliver
Baste, forward, finish. If the balance is wrong at the second fitting we re-cut the shoulder rather than press the problem flat and hope. It costs us a week. It saves you a decade.

IV · The Atelier
Fifteen days, six hands, one pattern.
A bespoke jacket takes between fifty and seventy hours of hand-work. Most of it happens where you will never see it — and that is precisely where the difference lives.
Consultation
Ninety minutes. We talk about how you live before we talk about cloth — how you sit, what you carry, which shoulder your bag lives on, and whether this garment is for a room or a road.
Cloth selection
Six merchant books on the table. We will steer you towards weight and weave before colour, because weight is what decides whether a jacket hangs or hovers.
Measure & draft
Between twenty-four and thirty measurements for a jacket, seventeen for a shirt, plus posture notes — dropped shoulder, forward pitch, prominent blade. Then a paper pattern drawn from scratch to you.
Cutting & basting
The cloth is struck, the canvas shaped, and the whole garment assembled in white basting thread so it can be taken apart again without a mark.
Fittings
Baste fitting, forward fitting, finish fitting. Chalk on cloth, seams opened, balance corrected. This is the part that cannot be bought any other way.
Finishing & delivery
Buttonholes worked by hand, linings felled, edges pressed over a ham rather than a board. Delivered on a shaped hanger with the pattern archived under your name.

Where is the studio?

How long does a custom suit take?
Ten to fifteen days from the first appointment to delivery. That covers the consultation and measuring, drafting your paper pattern, cutting and basting, three fittings and hand finishing.
What is the difference between bespoke and a readymade coat pant?
A readymade or altered coat pant starts from a standard size block. Bespoke starts from a paper pattern drafted to your own measurements and posture, cut by hand, and kept on file under your name — so the second garment fits better than the first, and the fifth better still.
Do you make wedding sherwani, bandhgala and groom suits?
Yes. Sherwani, bandhgala, jodhpuri, achkan, indo-western and full groom suits are all cut to your own pattern. For weddings we recommend booking about a month ahead — earlier if the commission involves hand embroidery.
What cloth do you use?
Six merchants only: Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Fox Brothers, Huddersfield Fine Worsteds and Bourgoin. If a cloth is not in one of those six books, we will say so rather than substitute quietly.
Is the jacket fully canvassed?
Yes. A floating horsehair canvas is basted through the chest on every jacket. We do not make fused jackets — they bubble at the chest and lapel after a few years.
Do you alter garments made elsewhere?
Yes, where the garment has enough inlay to work with. Bring it to the studio and we will tell you honestly what can and cannot be corrected.
